Dan is a Washington native. He grew up in the city of Marysville. He attended Western Washington University, earning his Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. He then attended Southern Illinois University (SIU), earning his Master of Science in Communication Disorders and Sciences. Dan has been studying and working in the field of Speech and Language Pathology since 2000. During his time at Southern Illinois, he helped create a rural outreach program for children with autism in collaboration with the Behavior Analysis and Treatment program. This program provided treatment, education and parent support. After graduating SIU he returned to Washington and worked in a variety of settings always maintaining a caseload of children with autism. Dan then began his own private practice, providing intervention in the home environment. During this time he was able to learn a significant amount about the needs of the children, and utilizing the experiences he had from his past, he had a vision to create a comprehensive facility that supported the needs of children with autism all in one place. By integrating providers, allowing them to team around treatment he felt that this would create the best outcomes and future for the children. Since opening Lakeside Center for Autism in 2009, the facility has grown to include 7 different disciplines, 22 treatment providers and 12 plus programs.
Dan and his wife Amy have three daughters, Bailey, Peyton and Madden. He loves spending time with his family, traveling and being out on the water wakeboarding.

Andy has numerous years of experience interacting, working and playing with individuals with autism spectrum disorders and special needs. After helping raise a sibling with autism, Andy became interested in improving the quality of life of those with special needs. Andy worked as a respite care provider and as a para-educator in a high school life skills classroom, but quickly realized that he could make a bigger difference in the lives of his clients if he continued his professional and academic development. So, in the summer of 2009, after three extra years of college classes, all-nighters, instant ramen soup and federal loans, Andy graduated with a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Andy completed his internship at the Lakeside Center for Autism (LCA) and was then promptly hired to work as a speech-language therapist at LCA. Andy loves working with all of the parents, clients and fellow staff at LCA. He approaches each session as a learning moment, a positive experience and an opportunity to apply evidence-based principles and techniques.
Andy believes that in all facets and foci of speech-language therapy, it is crucial to establish a solid, professional, empathetic relationship between the clinician and the client. Andy seeks to establish a bond with each individual he works with by structuring therapy around the interests of the client, the use of playful humor and the ability to quickly analyze and respond to a client’s emotional or communicative signaling. When interacting with clients with autism spectrum disorders in particular, the ability to establish a strong relationship with a client represents the bedrock of a successful therapy program; a foundation from which all goals pertaining to language and social-emotional function are built on.
In his spare time, Andy enjoys playing guitar, watching movies, exercising and fantasizing that the Seahawks will be good again.
