There are a number of behaviorally-based interventions used in teaching children with autism, including Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT) and Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT). These approaches serve as the methodological foundation for many empirically supported interventions based on the principles of behavioral psychology, learning theory, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
