Physical Therapy
Based on our trans-disciplinary approach a physical therapist may engage in moments of teaching. However, more emphasis may be placed on basic mobility skills such as sitting, walking, stairs and playing for young children. The physical therapist will also provide parent support to help them understand strategies and techniques that can be used in the home environment to help skills grow and develop.
When the children reach preschool age and thereafter, more complex skills such as jumping, kicking, throwing and catching may be targeted. As with all therapies at the Center the emphasis is on functional and meaningful purpose. These skills are important for social interaction and playing with peers in a typical manner. We will also provide the opportunity to execute newly learned skills in group settings to insure maximum generalization.
